30 years.....Wow!

This is Marilyn Weiden Schwoegler.   I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in July.  Writing this profile reminds me how very blessed my life has been.  After graduation, I went to DBCC and received my AA in general junk.  Took off for UWF in Pensacola.  Lasted a whopping 2 months, got homesick, moved back home and reported back to DBCC.  I graduated with my nursing degree in  1982.  I call it the University of Daytona Beach Community College since I spent enough time there to receive my Bachelors!!  Anyway... it was totally meant for me to come back to Daytona, because I met the absolute love of my life in July 1980 (in the Aku-Tiki lounge of all places!)

Glenn and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary on June 5th!  After looking over the trivia page of our reunion website....it was interesting to see that I graduated from high school on June 5th at 4pm, and 5 years later got married on June 5th at 4pm!

Anyway... back to the facts.  We lived in Daytona for a year.  I worked at Halifax Hospital in Labor and Delivery.  We then moved to Atlanta where I worked at Piedmont Hospital in Labor and Delivery for 20 years.  We had our son Bradley in 1988 and our son Stephan in 1990.  Glenn is a sales rep. for Genuine Parts Company and has been with them for 22 years.

We were happy in Atlanta, but felt there was a better place to raise our family.  Glenn loves the mountains as much as I love the beach.  We vacationed in Colorado regularly, and always dreamed of living there.  After the terrible day of September 11th, we both decided life is so very short, we should make arrangements to make our dream come true.  We stuck a "For Sale" sign up, left family and friends of 20 years and moved to Denver, where we didn't know a soul.  Glenn was lucky enough to be able to transfer in his company.  I was blessed to find the perfect job at Littleton Hospital in where else than.....Labor and Delivery!!!

Our boys have thrived out here.  Brad is now a Freshman at CSU...loves dorm life and all the things that come with it.  (Mom tries not to think about that!)   Stephan is a sophomore in high school.  Both of them are avid snowboarders.  Glenn loves skiing and I still love the beach.  We compromised on that point and bought a time share in Cabo San Lucas.

As I said, my life has been very blessed and I'm grateful to be able to share some of the highlights with you.  Again, I look forward to seeing you all at the reunion.
