How about a stroll down memory lane?

I moved to Port Orange in the middle of 7th grade where I had the pleasure of enrolling at Campbell Junior High. Remember Miss Tussey? It was there, and I don't remember why, I also met Coach Miller and his paddle.

The following year, it was off to Mainland and "split sessions". I purchased my first motorcycle the summer before, so at least no bus riding for me. There was Coach Kirton with his cattle prod and Coach Pinnell biting his wrestlers. Boy, those were the days!  Then, off we went to the new school, which is why we are here on this thing called a computer.

I continued on to DBCC and earned an AS in Electronic Technology while working at a local Tuxedo Rental store, and believe it or not, it's still in business. The thing I learned from my education was, you need experience to get a job, and you need a job to get experience.

In 1980, I started loading trucks in the early AM at UPS. In 1982, I became a full time driver and continued on until just last month. Retired is a strange word for a 47 year old, but I like it! Now, instead of hearing "I wanna drive the truck" every day, I keep hearing "You don't look old enough to retire". I'm now looking for a second career and maybe a second pension check so when the time comes, I can REALLY retire and not work.

I married for the second time, to my current wife Debbie, in 1999. I think somebody wrote a song about it! We flew off to Lake Tahoe for a ski vacation, and to everyone's surprise, came back husband and wife. Debbie has 3 children; twins Stephanie and David, now 19, and Ashley, 23. Stephanie was a SC Hawk and was a State Champ in weightlifting in 2006. She is now a Gator studying Pharmacy. Dave is preparing for the Police Academy this year, and Ashley is a Dental assistant. She married a South Daytona policeman and recently had baby Mason in December. Grandparents?? Remember, I don't look old enough to retire? We have 1 fish, 1 cockatiel, a Blue Front Amazon Parrot I've had since 1984, and a spoiled 2 year old Sheltie. We're still living here in Port Orange and try to go boating whenever possible. I enjoy a quiet day on the Halifax River in search of fiscian.

Well, that's all for now. We're working hard to make this a Reunion you won't forget. You don't want to miss Friday night at the Lagoon. You will most definitely see people you have not seen since high school.

See you in July.
